Onion Purchase of Infowars On Hold
[edit]Apparently the purchase of infowars has been put on hold by a bankruptcy judge. Someone should change that part of the article. Quanjano (talk) 19:32, 15 November 2024 (UTC)

- “A losing bidder connected to conspiracy theorist Alex Jones challenged on Monday the Onion's purchase of Jones' Infowars website, saying the parody news site won a rigged bankruptcy auction and offered half as much cash as its bid.” Reuters (November 18, 20242:56 PM EST) https://www.reuters.com/world/us/alex-jones-affiliated-company-challenges-onions-infowars-purchase-2024-11-18/ --Giacomo1968 (talk) 20:42, 18 November 2024 (UTC)
- Also, if you can look past the hyperbolic nonsense, this InfoWars article on issues surrounding the sale seems like a valid source for other sources; note can’t actually link to it because of Wikipedia filters: “EXPOSED: Onion CEO LIED About Having ‘Highest Bid’ in Infowars Auction, Court Docs Show” --Giacomo1968 (talk) 02:39, 19 November 2024 (UTC)
- And this piece from the New York Times, “The Onion’s Bid to Acquire Infowars Has Gotten Messy” https://www.nytimes.com/2024/11/19/business/media/the-onion-infowars-alex-jones.html --Giacomo1968 (talk) 00:02, 21 November 2024 (UTC)

IP users keep removing “fake news” description of InfoWars
[edit]As stated in title. Some IP users removed the “fake news website” description of InfoWars repeatedly when the first sentence of IW’s WP article states that it is a fake news website.
I risk crossing the 3RR if I kept reverting them. irisChronomia (talk) 22:50, 13 December 2024 (UTC)
- Don't worry; reverting of clear vandalism does not incur risk of 3RR. In such cases we'd hope you'd go to requests for page protection and ask for temporary semi-protection. I protected it for four days in November. Most recently, the latest ip editor is actually making a positive contribution. Read the protection policy to understand the process and what is allowed.
