Richard Harris

[edit]

Did Richard Harris sing McArthur Park ? 49.197.103.118 (talk) 13:12, 19 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Are you questioning whether the track is a song, (ie. he spoke it, rather than sing it)?
He sang it

The Guns of Navarone (1961)

[edit]

The articles says Harris was in "The Guns of Navarone" (1961). This is true, but his part is miniscule. It would have better to note he was in "The Heroes of Telemark" (1965) in which he was equal co-star.

Hiking

[edit]

I thought I met him hiking the Appalachian Trail? Did he ever hike the trail? I believe April 2019 on his last leg in Georgia? 2603:7081:1000:193:3DDB:DF82:6FFE:49EA (talk) 20:46, 5 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

That would have been difficult for the Richard Harris who is the subject of this article, since he died in 2002.
Please note Richard Harris (disambiguation), although I do not think that to be a comprehensive list.
In 1996, Richard Harris did make a racy aside to me on a dock on Paradise Island about a model he was picking up for a photo shoot on his estate there & while I waited for a boat to Nassau. That was the extent of our conversation, however. Peaceray (talk) 01:33, 6 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Richard's Place Of Buried

[edit]

Was he buried or cremated and it says place of rest is Limerick and then says cremated and scattered in the Bahamas 🫤🫤 149.167.160.248 (talk) 04:39, 13 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I just added the {{failed verification}} template to the statement about cremation & ashes being scattered in the Bahamas. The cited source, "Obituary: Richard Harris". BBC NEWS., says nothing about this.
As per WP:FINDAGRAVE-EL, Find a Grave should not be used as a reliable source: ... because it is user-generated content. Nevertheless, Richard Harris at Find a Grave indicates that his burial was at Mount Saint Lawrence Cemetery, Limerick, County Limerick, Ireland. I think we should look for a reliable source for that first, then remove the bit about cremation. Peaceray (talk) 05:22, 13 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Conversely, Find a Grave may have it wrong, in which case we need to find a reliable source for cremation & ash-scattering in the Bahamas.
I know that he did have an estate on Paradise Island. I met him on a dock there when he was there to get a model for a photo shoot, off a boat from Nassau, & I was later heading to Nassau on that same boat. Peaceray (talk) 05:32, 13 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Done I replaced Infobox burial parameter with thecorrect information; Harris's body was cremated & his ashes scattered in the Bahamas as per www.ocala.com/story/news/2002/10/27/private-funeral-planned-for-actor/31260593007/ & www.theintelligencer.com/news/article/Actor-Harris-to-Get-Private-Funeral-10510612.php. How do you figure that? Born October 1930, died October 2002. 2002 minus 1930 = 72. -- Jack of Oz [pleasantries] 07:16, 16 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
